Corn is man-made the way a Dachshund is man-made or an Angus steer is
man-made. They are all the result of domestication and selective
breeding.

Thanks for kind reply Dan

I honestly did NOT know this! Serious

I thought modern day corn was something that has been growing for
eons. No idea it has been "tweaked" from some other plant over the
ages.

And you say there is even debate abt what plant corn was tweaked FROM?

Here's a very interesting article on the subject:

Incredible. I had no idea. thanks for that link!

So....... is corn really a food to avoid at all costs then? I mean
is it nothing but carbs with very little other nutritional value?

Bottom line.... is corn the reason we are so fat in America?

Not corn itself, but some corn products. High fructose corn syrup is added
to almost every prepared food, read some labels. Lots of things don't need
sweetening but it's there anyway.

Even before LC I never considered corn a healthy food. Most of it seems to come
out looking no different than when it went in, LOL!

What did native Americans get maize from?
Just curious here.

it's a very hybridized plant. not sure if they figured it out. I remember seeing
it on some PBS channel.
