Default How can I force fat wife to lose weight

A better question would be to ask you how your wife could force you to stop
being so narrow-minded.

We have been married for 12 years and have two beautiful daughters. I
have always been the fit one, because I exercise and do not overeat. I
became a little overweight 10 years ago, then lost weight 9 years ago
and have been at normal weight, which has not been easy. So you cannot
say that I am "naturally thin", I am "naturally fat" but I work to
keep myself thin.

My wife however has put on a great deal of weight through the years
and looks really gross and disgusting. She weights 280 lbs and she is
5'7".

I still love her but I am not attracted to her anymore. Because I love
her and our kids I would prefer to somehow force her to lose weight.

She is in denial of her fat issues, says she is big boned, says that
weightloss does not work, says that she loves her food too much etc.

My question is how can I push her towards weightloss. My strategy so
far has been to bring up health issues rather than say that she is
ugly. But maybe I should tell her the truth about how she looks?

Dave

Tell me, did you date a midget, a hunchback and a leprosian only to
show that you aren't "narrow-minded"? At least, those are
abnormalities that can't be avoided, unlike overweight, which is
mainly a question of choice.

So somebody who wants a wife who isn't a beach ball is
"narrow-minded"? Then, a wife who doesn't care for her husband, for
her health, and who lives only from one donut to the next, what kind
of mind has?

Unfortunately, morbidly fat people keeps saying to themselves that
they're not the problem, that the "others" are the problem. And that's
not true. If you choose to be fat, then be ready to stay seated while
the thin women dance with the guys. If you want to dance, lose weight,
don't say that the other people are "shallow". That's the way the
world is.

Trina

Someone suggested that I am somehow a bad person. Quite to the
contrary. I still love my fat wife as a human being. She is a good
person. However I no longer find her attractive physically. I am the
exact opposite of a "shallow" person who only can love trim girls. I
am a "deep" person who loves my wife despite her ugly appearance. And
I do not want to leave her, I want to help her. Whoever is being
judgmental about me, you are wrong!

If you love a person they are never "ugly". You on the other hand are very
"ugly" on the inside and your wife really doesn't deserve your sort of
intolerance. Your wife sounds absolutely beautiful to me and strangely it
appears that unlike you she accepts you just as you are. When was the last
time you told her she was beautiful, that she was a great mother, had a
great personality? Her self esteem may be very poor and don't believe that
she hasn't picked up on your "disgust". She may be crying inside, is that
what you want for the woman you supposedly love?

You're fat too, aren't you? If its ok to divorce someone for substance
abuse when its drugs or alcohol, I see no reason you should not be
able to divorce them when they abuse food. Sometimes its best to dump
someone even when you love them if they're harming themselves and/or
you

The alcoholic parallel is one I've been using for years to explain
to women just how utterly revolting fat pig women are to most men.

Saw this,
I haven't read all of the replies , but this may be a novel viewpoint
she went off you sexually , and in order to keep you away put on weight,
this is a much deeper problem than you think,

Sounds like a big mess. By the way, have you been ignoring her sexually?
This may be a contributing factor. I have heard that when women are not

paid
attention to they tend to become careless with their bodies. It is

imperative
that they be given attention and made to feel sexy.

A profound thought.

Wow, you've been to Jerome???? I was there 3 years ago in training for the
company I just quit. The training was 2 weeks long and I got to work out 2
weekends there for free. I spent part of each weekend in Jerome, and
Sedona. I thought that Sedona was a little too commercialized, but
beautiful.

I don't think I've been to Jerome, but we spent a lot of time last year
driving around the Sedona area. It was a bit too commercialized, but once
you got out of the town and into the countryside, the landscape is
incredible.
