Default Dr. Phil McGraw's Ultimate Weight Solution

Hello everyone,

Just curious if anyone out there has read The Ultimate Weight Solution by
Dr. Phil McGraw? I received mine in the mail yesterday and am hooked at his
outlook on obesity and how to overcome and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I've never been one to read self help books and such, but I'm a big believer
now.

I think the book makes you look at patterns we have taught ourselves and
to step back and paint a picture of what we want to obtain (being realistic)
as far as weight goes. He also put a more realistic weight scale in the
book as compared to the ones that medical doctors use that tell what we
should weigh. It also takes in to condition your body type..for example I
consider myself big boned, bigger chest/rib cage than a lot of men my
height. I'm 71" or 5'11" and Dr. Phil's weight table say that a more
realistic scale for myself is 173 small frame -192 middle frame -211 large
frame. This is about 12 pounds heavier than what most sources tell me I
should weigh. Dr. Phil says that the old standards are really OLD and that
we as people are healthier compared to the people back when the old scales
were made and so the weight standards should have shifted a bit.

Anyway, if you've considered buying it, but haven't I would recommend to
anyone with weight issues. If you have a negative outlook on this type
learning then don't buy it. I have been skeptical to things I didn't really
understand, but I have a great feeling about this book. I couldn't put it
down last night and expect to have it finished in 10 to 14 days.

Please don't take this as a sales pitch. I don't know Dr. Phil personally
and am not making any money stating how I feel about his book. I just
wanted to share with you fine folks something that sparked an interest in me
an hope I can help someone else by recommending reading his book.

Take care,

Paul
