When I lived up North, the kids were the real skiers! They were

faster,
better, and more agile than the adults and didn't whine about the cold.

It
is a kewl family sport for some.

Yes, they can. Now, will Itsy Bitsy take her 6 year old since she
said " I'll be up there every weekend and on evenings throughout..."

Remember, she loves her beers too. And she is in the hunt for a
husband.

Beer and men? An unusual past time for a single woman? Get a life.

I'd much rather spend some time drinking a couple of beers and flirting

with
my boyfriend than casting judgement on others. And you know what?
Sometimes, I go all out and drink wine and well, I won't tell you the rest
for fear I am judged as slut of the year.

*gasp* Julianne! You bad bad girl... We should get together!

and now I'm running to catch up! I've gone overboard in the past month
with too many calories/carbs etc.
Yesterday I had another bodycomp done to see how bad the damage was - I'm

up
5 lbs, but my bodyfat actually went down a fraction of a percent. I

gained
about 3 lbs muscle, and 2 lbs fat... So I started my own sort of

induction
yesterday, cutting calories and slashing carbs - and wow! Did I ever

have
cravings last night! It was awful. I managed to not eat anything else
after dinner, had my herbal tea w/splenda and went to bed.
So, my goal is to keep my calories between 1200-1400 with a refeed on the
weekend, and keep carbs around 100-125g. I have already scheduled my

next
bodycomp for Oct 31, so I have a "deadline" of sorts to keep me

accountable.
Want to drop 3-5 lbs of fat by then. I'm so looking forward to ski

season
opening, because cardio is a total non-issue during the season - I'll be

up
there every weekend and on evenings throughout...

Hey, You didn't slip. You did this on purpose. And to know that you
gained back more muscle than fat - that was the whole goal.

But remember, if you lose 5lbs, you have to be extra careful you dont
undo what you just did in the muscle gaining.

Yeah, the actual numbers were 3.75 lbs muscle gained, 1.5 lbs fat. Not too
bad. I guess I was hoping for better ratios? The pt who is giving me my
bodycomp doesn't really seem to have a clue nutrition-wise. She said I
shouldn't rest between sets to make them more "cardiovascular" when I know
that's crap when you're lifting heavy.

But the pants o meter is telling me I'd better back off a little...

do you take six year old kids along when you do this?

No. Why do you think Determined does?

I didn't say she did. I asked if you did.

And you know what?

What?

Do you let six year olds watch you have intercourse too?

Of course not.

Good for you. Good for the world of six year olds. Now explain to me,
since this thread is about Itsy Bitsy's mismanagement of HER six year
old, how do you feel about her dragging HER 6 year old off to snow
ski, around drinking and carousing males, every weekend and every
weekend evening (her words)?

Do you think this is an example of child abuse?

I seriously doubt everyone but the most deranged folks do
this and I can't imagine any of the regular posters being that seriously
deranged.

Me either.

Leave your six year old at home. Taking her out on nites of sex and
drinking, all week event.

I will be watching, I promise you. One report that you have dragged
that poor kid into that kind of environment, you will be reported.

I'd suggest maybe asking over in MFW for what a good goal would have been.
That way you have a better consensus of knowing if what you did was
worthwhile or not.

Well, since you asked...

No, I don't think it's child abuse. I think it's spending quality time
playing with a kid doing something fun. One of my children absolutely
loves to go skiing. We try to fit it into our schedules but we're so
bogged down with chores and work and the other kids that we rarely have
time to just take the kid skiing on evenings and week-ends. He'd be a
much happier, healthier kid if we spent that kind of time with him.

And shockingly, my children have never, ever been damaged by the sight of
me having a beer (or more commonly, wine) in the evening with my
husband. In fact, that kind of activity tends to be accompanied by
relaxing and enjoying the company I'm with, which means I'm not barking at
the kids to do something or rushing someplace or any of the kind of crap
that gets them uptight: I'm just kicking back and enjoying the people I'm
with. This is an EXCELLENT thing to do with your child.

Wait a minute. Bitsy is going to take her 6 year old child, all
weekend and every weekend nite (her words) into a an adult world of
alcohol and male-female socializing, and this does not border on child
abuse?

http://www.childabuse.com/fs14.htm

She is setting a dangerous precedent for her child. She already is
struggling with no father figure (and no, you an't count Bitsy's BFs
who come and go like a revolving door).

But, I respect your opinion. You Holyoke grrrls probably know each
other very well.

And shockingly, my children have never, ever been damaged by the sight of

Not even close to the same thing. Note use of words "husband", I
assume at your home not in some ski chalet.

In fact, that kind of activity tends to be accompanied by
relaxing and enjoying the company I'm with, which means I'm not barking at

I couldn't agree more.

Tell bitsy not to drag her kid every weekend and every weekend nite
skiing then.

Btw, where is Daddy in all this? Split? Uninvolved? Unable, because of
Bitsy's bitterness, to be allowed to be involved?

Where is he?
