Thanks Lee. Seeing the scale go up can be so discouraging. Maybe it's
age, but I'm so bored with having a tantrum every time the scale reverses the trend. This week I decided to accept it as a natural part of things, especially after a cold. In fact, this week I had a most unusual experience: TOD (Time of the Decade). Spooked me enough to make a doctor's appt. Thanks Fred. You said it: unbelievable (almost). Now you understand
why those voices in my head are having such a hard time. A woman at work tells me I'm starting to look like a pencil. No One has EVER compared my body shape to a pencil! I remember when I took my measurements a year ago when I started. I was determined that this time I was going to face the truth, no matter how awful. Now I'm glad I made the effort. Seeing the change in inches is almost more astounding than seeing the change in weight. Prairie Roots On Sat, 21 Feb 2004 16:59:36 -0800, Fred wrote: Terrific attitude about this week's results. Thanks Joyce. Yes I have come a long way, and I still have a way to
go. Maybe this time next year I'll be a member of the lifetimers club along with you, Lesanne, Fred, Julie, Wendy, and others. One day at a time. Thanks Nathalie. Sometimes a year can feel like an awfully long time
to be losing weight. And I'm not even done yet. But this day would have come around on the calendar whether I'd been losing weight or not. So I'm glad I was losing. Being 71 lbs lighter than I was a year is still an amazing thought. Prairie Roots On Sun, 22 Feb 2004 11:30:45 +0100, "Nathalie W" wrote: What a difference a year makes! Thanks Ray. A few weeks ago I spent some time reading the WW forums
and came across some posts from a woman who's lost about 150 lbs in a year and still losing. For a minute I felt very discouraged about my own progress and how long it's taking for me and why can't I be more like her and what's wrong with me and yada yada yada. After a while, I remembered that I'm only doing this for myself. I'm doing what I'm able to do. I'm OP more than I'm not. I enjoy holidays and vacations and special occasions. I'm learning a whole new WOE. I'm adding exercise and learning to enjoy it. I've come further this time than I have any other time. This time I know it's permanent. Suddenly I was GLAD I haven't lost as quickly as the woman on the WW boards. My weight loss journey is all about me. Not about, or for, anyone else. So I can have my chocolate peanut butter cookie dough skinny cow ice cream and eat it too, while losing weight and getting healthy in my own sweet time. The same is true for you. You are getting where you want to be. We are all becoming who we already are.
