Default Effect on weight loss?

Can someone help me figure this out? I take several RXed meds and
trying to figure which is slowing my weight loss.
Prevacid is a very potent stomach-acid blocker.....the pharmacutical
print-out reads, "PREVACID SIGNIFICANTLY SLOWS THE EMPTYING OF
DIGESTIBLE SOLIDS." Is this a good thing in relation to weight loss, or
a bad thing? Also it states that, "PREVACID INHIBITS THE NORMAL
INCREASES IN SECRETION VOLUME, ACIDITY, AND ACID OUTPUT INDUCED BY
INSULIN."
Is this a good thing? Does this mean less insulin is produced "cause
not needed? Or vice versa?
I am just totally confused. I spoke with my Gastroenterologist about
effect that Prevacid might have in relation to weight loss. He says he
hasn't a clue, that I would need to talk to dietician or nutritionist. I
talked with dietician at the Weight Loss Center, she says hasn't a clue,
will need to ask my doc. See what I mean??????

Default Effect on weight loss?

Prior to starting low carb I needed acid reducing medication everyday. Since
I have started to low carb (after about the first or second week) I don't
need the stuff at all. Sugar and high carb diets definitely have an effect
on H2 production in the digestive system causing indigestion, excess stomach
and digestive acids, and gastric-esophageal reflux.

If you eliminate wheat from your diet for a week you might be able to give
up the heart burn meds entirely.

My Sweetie was on a large dose of them after having a couple episodes of
gastric bleeding that put him into the hospital. Cutting out the wheat
solved his problem. The doctors never even suggested that wheat was a
problem and just kept putting him on stronger and stronger heartburn meds.

However, if you low carb while eating the new and, to my mind, bogus "low
carb" foods on the market nowadays that have wheat as an ingredient, you may
not see the heartburn clear up. It isn't just carbs that cause heartburn.
There is some kind of specific wheat allergy involved which seems to be very
common. It is also not quite the same as celiac disease which is a gluten
intolerance.
