Default Being LC and going to the movies

Anyone here have any stories about this?

Since being LC, I often "break the rules" and walk into the theater
with my LC snacks in my pocket. Or I make sure to go to the movies on
a full stomach.

I don't have trouble at the theaters near where I live, but I always
wonder if the next time is the time I get caught with my almonds,
veggies, cheese cubes or Scharffen-Berger chocolate.

Any other LCers "break the rules" and sneak outside food into the
cinemas?

I'll have to keep doing this until they start selling one single
solitary thing (besides diet Coke - which I hate - and bottled water)
that I can eat/drink. Maybe we should start putting pressure on
theaters to carry a wider variety of snacks. If they sold beef jerky,
salads or nuts, I'm sure we'd buy them. I'm sure that raw veggie
plates with bleu cheese or ranch dip, would have a lot of buyers.

I wonder if any diabetics out there or people with food allergies have
raised a stink with movie theaters after getting "busted"?

Anyone else with stories from this front?

I don't eat at movies....just my personal rule....

But if you're going to eat, do take your own stuff. I do buy bottled water,
however.

Movie smuggling is easy. I recommend a 2 ounce chunk of cheese in a ziplock
bag....

In my pre-LC days I would buy my candy at the drugstore. About 5 or 6 small
boxes of various things. I used the bag from the store to hold them, and
shove them in my pocket. When you are 300+ pounds you have big pants
pockets.

I did it about a hundred times at all the different theater chains. Nobody
ever messed with me. I didn't even try to hide it, while I was at my seat.
I would hook the plastic bag handle over the end of the seat arm....

I take a backpack in with me all the time with bottled water and things that
I want to eat. No one has ever said a word. And if they did? I'd simply
tell them that my doctor forbids me to eat the junk they sell but that I
have a blood sugar condition which requires me to eat frequently. It's all
bull honky, but given an appropriate reason, they won't argue with you.

Peace,
Pen

Don't know what it is about the movies, but I like to snack on something
while there. I take in pistachios usually. It slows me down while I eat
because I have to take them out of the shell and I can throw the shells on
the floor and make a pile. I find it fun to see how big of a mess I can
make while there.

Enjoy,
Curt

I dont low carb per se but Ive asked at my local theaters and they have
a dont ask, dont tell policy. I bring in my own popcorn, water and
usually some chocolate or maybe a few portion controlled oatmeal bars.
They never ask, I never tell. If my wife goes with me she carries the
popcorn, if not I carry it in a backpack.

Some people don't have the mentality of "needing" to eat in front of a movie
screen.
