Attitude Check
Well it's been a while since I started to track what I eat daily through
keeping a spreadsheet. several things i'm noticing: 1. when i started i ate a lot of different foods. each day I would have 6 to 8 items. (quite a lot since i only allowed myself 1200-1500 calories.) nowadays i only have about 4 to 5 items a day. My diet has become much more simplifed. 2. eating was all i can think of at the beginning, each bite comes with the dread of when is the next meal and what healthy concoction will it be? in the past several days, I still day dream frequently about eating, but i seem to have stopped daydreaming about binging. I even joked about eating a whole cheesecake today -- and actually did not secretly hope that i could. amazing. 3. McDonald's is no longer a dirty word. and neither is jack in the box. Mexican/italian still are, but observe the 3/4th rule makes it a-okay. The REAL seven dirty words of dieting: buffets mayo supersize cheesecake factory softdrinks and sugar-low. 4. breakfast: what a concept. (altho i still cannot eat as soon as 30 minutes after i get up, I make it a point to eat something substantial and hot 2 or 3 hours into my day everyday just so that by lunch i'm not famished.) |

I've never eaten that way. I get up at 6:30am. I eat breakfast about 9am. Today its already past 9 and I haven't gotten to my breakfast yet. |

It's easier to stick to a WOE that's not overly complicated. I basically eat the same things on a regular basis and switch out things when I get tired of them. 4. breakfast: what a concept. That's also the way I do it and I think we're not alone. It's rare when I can actually stomach something besides water, coffee or tea within an hour after getting up. Because food tends to gross me out that early, most of the time my breakfast is a shake of some type (Myoplex Lite). I'm always rushed in the morning so I can grab it from the fridge on my way out and sip at it all morning. Jenn |

I also wake up hungry, and always eat pretty soon afterward. This
seems to be characteristic of thin people I know, so I'm pleased at the change. The nutritionist at our gym, a little tiny woman who used to do college gymnastics, tells me that she heads to the kitchen in her jammies as soon as she gets up to fix her breakfast -- doesn't wait to shower or dress. I sometimes do that but on work days I usually get ready for work first. Chris 262/135/ (130-140) |

It's crap food regardless of whether or not it is in your diet plan. |

Chris 262/135/ (130-140) No matter what I weighed and even when I was eating 800 cal/day I could never eat right away after getting up. It might be due to a lifetime of minor allergies, etc. It takes a while for things to clear up first thing in the AM and snot seems to be a decent appetite suppressant. Another deterrent is when I want to work out first thing in the AM and I don't like to eat right before a workout. Even when I smoked, I could also never light up first thing in the AM. My ex husband used to have his smokes on the bedstand and didn't even have his feet out of bed before lighting up. I still had to wait for water, coffee, or tea (and beforementioned head clearing).
