Default Is my workout/eating plan a little obsessive?

Greetings Friends,

Tonight I had a dinner out with the family, something I rarely do as I
do not like eating out much now that I am committed to eating more
healthy and maintaining a regular workout routine. I like to keep my
dining out days to about once every two weeks or so, social obligations
permitting. I work in a very "social" environment --I represent
"talent," ugh-- and even though I don't have to attend social events, I
feel as though I have to in order to advance my career; this usually
means dining out with lavish food. I often times feel uncomfortable to
eat as much as my cohorts do (god knows where their metabolisms come
from, or maybe they just purge? eww), so I am relunctant to partake as
fully as I should, food-wise.

In any case, to make a long story short, I went out to eat dinner with
the folks tonight. We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:15P or so
and came back home (after a drive to pick up a health dessert for which
we are saving in the refridgerator) at around 9P. My stomach was still
full, so I wanted to rest for at least 1.5 hours (this this necessary,
btw, for those who know about eating then working out?) before I went
to the gym. Alas, it was around 11P and I was arguing whether or not to
go to the gym. I'm obviously not there right now (typing instead, near
midnight), and am feeling very bad about not going. I also feel bad
about eating out tonight, as it wasn't planned (sporadic, my parents
suggested it after I came home from work, my stomach quite prepared for
dinner). On the ride home, I planned to have a bowl of cereal, a piece
of toast with a spread of peanut butter, some stone-wheat crackers with
some cottage cheese for dinner. Instead I had soupy Chinese food and
dessert at the restaurant.

My friends think I'm kind of insane for feeling guilty about eating out
this one time and again, for beating myself up over not going to the
gym this one Friday night (I should be out anyway, right? I'm a
strapping young thing!). I was particularly good about going to the gym
this week, clocking in around two hours each session since Christmas.
And today I flaked out on my trusted gym and now I feel bad.

I am wondering if I am sounding a bit obsessive, or if this is normal?
I don't want to do anything detrimental to my body, but I just want to
maintain my routine and be healthy (mentally and physically).
Thanks for the continued support,

HS.
