We've discussed this in the past, haven't we? I thought I volunteered to
buy some strips and send them to you. Then, as I recall, you said you had a
sister who could do that. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

Not true. An egg, for example, generally has less than 100 calories.
Three eggs is a filling meal. A grilled chicken breast is low-fat, as are
many low-carb vegetables. I was easily able to stay under 1500 calories
and 20-30g carbs.

Maybe I should clarify. I would add "with reasonable variety and something
you can maintain for the rest of your life".

Like shrimp, chicken, and salmon? I can do that the rest of my life, no
problem. Last night ate at Outback. Grilled shrimp on the barbie,
caesar salad, grilled salmon with broccoli and butter. Lunch was El
Pollo Loco 4-piece chicken meal. Breakfast was a couple of fried eggs
topped with cheese. Finished off with some olives before bed.

That's (checking Fitday results) 14 gram carbs (actually less since I
didn't subtract the fiber out of the broccoli), 1257 calories, 64%
calories from fat.

Or the day befo 1.5 oz Gruyere cheese for breakfast, El Pollo Loco
4-piece grilled chicken lunch (ok, I like their chicken!), shrimp
envueltos (wrapped in bacon and grilled), and a big chicken/avocado
Caesar salad for dinner. 1125 cal, 9 carb, 61% cals from fat. Should
have had more veggies, but I had had a bunch of Brussels sprouts the day
before.

Yeah, I'm suffering the torments of the damned here. Faugh. Looking at
the last month Fitday report, I've averaged 1390 calories, 12 grams
carb, 60% cals from fat, while eating as much as I want with a great
deal of variety.

Sure....if you don't eat much, then your body will use ALL of the stuff you
eat to fuel itself. Then it will turn to fat stores. LC works better for
most (especially those who are IR and T2s) since it levels out BG better.
You would likely be less hungry on LC.

Maybe. But the bottom line is that with LC I tend to drift towards 116-117
kg. That means I also have to count calories. If I have to count calories
*anyway* isn't it easier to just count calories?

By the way, I counted the carbs I ate yesterday. I think it was about 175
grams.

That's still probably 1/3rd - 1/4th or less of what I'd be eating if I were
completely off my diet altogether...
