In article , says...
I went through most of my weight loss without too many comments. I think it
took 50lbs to get the first one! Now that summer is over I'm doing a bunch of
back to school stuff with the kids, and can't go five minutes without somebody
commenting! Naturally, when I answered the "how did you do it" question, the
response was almost always the same. An excited face, expecting a miracle cure
answer, which quickly collapses into a frown and 'oh, I couldn't do that ... no
bread?' or some such comment. I just smile and don't say anything. Even though
the obvious answer is that when choosing between being obese and giving up
bread, the answer *should* be obvious. LOL! I even went swimming at the girl
scout kickoff party, and had a great time. (I jumped off the high-dive, that
impressed a bunch of 8 & 9 year olds!) I know I'm still fat, but it's not
enough to slow me down anymore, and I know it too will be gone soon enough. I
saw the other moms who were my old size, and it made me sad. This time last
year I too would have been parked in a chair in the shade, watching everyone
else have fun, and feeling self-conscious. Made me want to go tell them "I know
how to help you!" LOL! It does make me 100% determined to NEVER put myself back
in that place again. It's an ugly, sad, lonley, and very frustrating place.

It's amazing, isn't it? I told myself that I was okay with it when I was at my
heaviest -- I wasn't, but didn't think I could do anything about it, so I HAD to
be okay with it, right? BZZZZZT! I never want to feel like that again!

I want to say that besides being obviously slimmer, you also look
healthy and spunky. I saw a guy who lost 100+ lbs on a crash diet. I
did not say anything, but he looked like a Dachau prisoner. You look
attractive, although a bit pale.

Well, I am pale (I prefer porcelain princess, if you don't mind, LOL!),
although not quite as pale as that pic. I most likely has some powder with
titanium dioxide in it on, and the flash bounced off it. A common photo/makeup
problem.
