Default What Do You Guys Snack On?

Bonjour,

Just a note to inquire about what everyone here snacks on. Either
inbetween meals or as a complement/dessert to your meals. Here's a list
of what I've been snacking on lately:

slices of almost-ripe mangoes (I hate the mushy stuff)
Wasa Fiber Rye Crispbread
Wisecrackers (Partners brand cracker)
grapes
all-natural applesauce (without lye!)
dried cranberries
boiled peanuts (peanuts bought raw and then boiled until soft in water)

Any suggestions on other kinds of snacks? Or any criticisms on these
snacks? Just thought I'd share!

HS

Except for the nuts, everything else is primarily carbohydrate.

I'd suggest including a little protein and fat with each meal/snack
for better satiety.

Examples:

o Sliced apple or pear dipped in nut butter or yogurt
o Diced mango mixed into plain yogurt
o Turkey breast or tuna fish on crispbread
o Cottage cheese w/applesauce
o Salad with oil & vinegar dressing, 2-3 oz turkey breast/tuna/shrimp
o Hardboiled eggs
o Handful of walnuts and dried cranberries

I snack on roasted seaweed -- they're so yummy and have virtually NO
calories.

of course...the sodium is kind of bad -- but i'm not really that worried
about salt.

i also like the rice crackers they sell at the chinese super markets

and does anyone here snack of Pork Fu?

it's dried shreded pork and it's reallly good and sometimes when i crave
something meaty but tasty but not really greasy it totally hits the spot.

(yes, i'm chinese )

The dried cranberries in my local store have honey in them. But that
doesn't make them bad. But I also like Turkish apricots and prunes. Buy
Mariani brand if you can find them. Also any kind of fruit you can get --
at this point in the year I would choose Braeburn apples over Macs (mushy
this late in the season) or Delicious (too woody because they have to stand
up to rough handling during shipping).
