Default grill machines

I'm experimenting with an old, used, counter top grilling machine. It
burns the outside of food before the inside gets done. The lid also
gets too hot to touch or open without an oven mit.

Are newer ones any better?

Can't you turn it down? It's obvious its getting too hot.

No contest! George Foreman! Make sure you get one large enough to cook
bacon slices on. Easy clean up when you do it right away while the food
rests. Whipe down with a cold wet paper towel. By the time the bacon cools
off enough to eat your grill is clean.

Regards,
Gunn
