The Zone Diet
What do you think about "The Zone?" It's basically a diet that works on controlling your hormones to control your insulin levels (sugar levels) and therefore, releasing your fat stores and losing weight in the long run. Macronutrients (protein, carbs, and fats) are measured in blocks (in his book, "A Week in the Zone") which portions your meals correctly. I believe this diet works. Does anyone else?

The Zone diet is a good plan but difficult to follow for many because of the precision of the macronutrient ratio. If the numbers don't bother you then it's not a problem. -- the volleyballchick |

Does anyone else? -- Cherry-o If it really worked everybody would be doing it. It really does work and everyone doesn't do it because they're not self-aware enough of how food affects them to change their food to fuel their body. Or perhaps because they just don't need to because food doesn't affect their insulin levels badly. Or perhaps because they don't CARE that food affects their insulin levels badly. I've been eating a Zone-like diet for about four years now. I found it invaluable for curing insulin resistance/Syndrome X and losing and maintaining a vast weight loss. Forget about it. Exercise, eat right, get your fluids and your sleep. The Zone Diet is one way to eat right. Patty, you're such a fool. Dally |

It is a sensible balanced nutrition ratio but needs carefull planning to onform to the percentages of fat, carbohydrate and protein. Diva |
