Daily calorie intake too low?
Have put on heaps of weight over the last 5-6 years due to a comnination of
agoraphobia and anti-depressenats. Have tried to diet a lot over years and eat loads of takeaways. About 6 weeks ago i had a go at simple calorie counting and it worked a treat. Im never left hungary and have had to stop taking most takeaway food due to it not having a a calorie count. I just to make sure im not taking too few calories, ive lost a little over a stone in about 4 weeks am am well chuffed. Id just appreciate it if someone looked over my numbers and left some comments etc as ive kept it pretty low to take into account that im very inactive. I do have days/weeks were im out to the local shop a few times of the day etc but can sometimes go months without venturing out lol. any way.. Im currently 18 stone 3 ounces (thats in the morning tho when im dehydrated lol) and 5 foot 9 inches. I started at 1500 calories a day for the first 4 weeks but have now upped it a bit to 1750 the last weeks. Comments would be appreciated as i dont want to turn out a malnourished lardy lol. Many thanks Gordy |

About 6 weeks ago i had a go at simple calorie counting and it worked a treat. Im never left hungary and have had to stop taking most takeaway food due to it not having a a calorie count. What does, though, are those ready-meals the supermarkets provide that you just have to hot up at home. They're also cheaper than take-aways. And both Tesco and Sainsbury deliver, as does Iceland.com, if you still have problems going to supermarkets. With the first two, you can order on-line. I just to make sure im not taking too few calories, ive lost a little over a stone in about 4 weeks am am well chuffed. Brilliant! Id just appreciate it if someone looked over my numbers and left some comments etc as ive kept it pretty low to take into account that im very inactive. I do have days/weeks were im out to the local shop a few times of the day etc but can sometimes go months without venturing out lol. Can you try some exercise at home, even if it's only following a fitness video? Just to get you moving and your blood circulating - it does help with the weight loss. any way.. Im currently 18 stone 3 ounces (thats in the morning tho when im dehydrated lol) and 5 foot 9 inches. Okay, they say you should eat between 8-12 kcal per pound of body weight per day, so ideally you should eat (fiddles with calculator) between 2016 and 3024 kcal per day. So your present diet is a bit low - maybe you want to raise it a bit. On the other hand, if you can maintain it and feel okay with it..... I started at 1500 calories a day for the first 4 weeks but have now upped it a bit to 1750 the last weeks. Comments would be appreciated as i dont want to turn out a malnourished lardy lol. Just make sure you have plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and take a daily multivitamin, and you should be fine. -- Annabel - "Mrs Redboots" 90/88/80kg |

Im currently 18 stone 3 ounces (thats in the morning tho when im
dehydrated lol) and 5 foot 9 inches. If I've done my calculations correctly, that's about 252 pounds. I started at 1500 calories a day for the first 4 weeks but have now upped it a bit to 1750 the last weeks. If you're not hungry, I think that's fine. Like Annabel said, add some fresh fruits and veggies. Is there any chance you can have a doctor or nutritionist come to your house? A nutrtionist could help adjust your diet given your restrictions. Im never left hungary and have had to stop taking most takeaway food due to it not having a a calorie count. I eat carryout food (from high-quality groceries, not some greasy spoon) almost exclusively. I talk with the clerks and cooks at the groceries to find out what ingredients are in the products, then estimate calories using fitday.com. ive lost a little over a stone in about 4 weeks am am well chuffed. Bravo the weight loss. But what is "well chuffed"? As always, YMMV. Kasey 365/248/??? (26.07 stone/17.71 stone/???) |
