Default Question for people who are or were over 300 lbs

Hi,
I'm a newbie here.
Please tell me on what kind of scale you were weighed on at over 300 lbs.
Most household scales go to 299.
I'm finding it very frustrating that I don't know my true weight.
Thanks for any info. Brand names of household scales would be very helpful.
Peace. Tavligal

that goes higher if I remember right.

Good luck!

Someone here once suggested just buying two regular scales and standing
with one foot on each one, and adding up the two weights.

I was doing this and found it very frustrating. I wish I hadn't wasted
money buying a second scale.

I just bought a Tanita HD-351. Max weight 440 lbs, in 0.2 increments.
Nice large Digital readout. Memorizes 5 different users. Always
displays previous weigh-in each time. $74.95

http://www.scalesgalore.com/pbath.htm
It is the second one on the page and the cheapest on the site for the
over 330 lb crowd. This place had the best price w/shipping figured
in. It was also closer to me (NY) and came quickly. They are out of
stock till 1/28 though.

I started out at 386, according to the scales at GNC. My wife checked
her weight on the scales at her work (she works in a hospital) and the
scales at my GNC were accurate. That is an option. I usually check
once a week.

My friend gave meone. Its brand new but I am over 350 so am patiently
waiting to use it. I have never been a slave to the scale but it is a
pain to run to the doctors office to weigh. When I was 414 I couldnt
weigh at the doc's. Get this.... I had to weigh out doors down at the
fish loading dock by crawling onto a giant platform scale. Speaking of
scales.... I'm hoping to continue "scaling" down. It will be nice to
step on a tiny scale LOL

I just went to the Doctor's office weekly. I didn't have to check in
or anything. I just walked back to the scale & weighed myself. That
was 6 months ago. Now I can weigh myself on any ole scale. WOO HOO!

Used the digital scale at GNC and the doctors scale until I got down to
330. Then I bought a 25 buck digital doodad that went to 330 and have
been using it ever since.

Single malt scotch is awesome (NO it does NOT have carbs as DON'T vodka,
gin, rum, bourbon, etc generally)
Malt can be made low carb through the judicious use of yeast.
Low carb beer? Uh...yeah.
Read the books.
You can have more than eggs for breakfast.
Yes calories do count.
Ketosticks are not neccessary to lose weight.

With Tanita it will definitely depend on the model. Mine only goes to
300, so my husband can't yet weigh on it. He uses the scale at the
gym.
