Week 79 WI: 146.8 lbs
Weight change since WI: +2.6 lbs
Total weight change to date: -85.2 lbs

My mom's home from the hospital and is healing well from her bypass
surgery. I spent all day with her yesterday to give my brother a
break, and today, I went for a bike ride and then spent the afternoon
at REI taking advantage of the summer clearance sale. Now I've got
everything I need to go camping: a tent, sleeping bag and mat, cook
stove, cookware. Picked up a few things for my bike too. I won't try
to go camping Labor Day weekend; the parks are booked well in advance.
But I'm sure I'll be able to fit in a couple of weekend trips before
the season ends. Camping's better in the fall: fewer bugs. Lower
humidity. Cooler temps. Colorful scenery. Not many people.

I think my feeding frenzy has passed. I'm ready to start counting
points and journaling and trying some new recipes.

Today's bike ride took me to an area I hadn't been to before. The ride
was cut short because of some miscommunication between the leader and
one of the riders, and I wasn't the only one disappointed to have
ridden only 15 miles. But no one fussed overly much. At least I have a
map of the trail and could go on my own. There's a bike ride Wednesday
evening I want to do; I'll have to leave work early but I'm definitely
OK with that. One of my purchases at REI was a bike light for night
riding and a reflective belt for extra visibility.

Guess I should mention my WI. I'm up this week, close to exceeding the
2-lb limit for maintenance. No way am I complaining. I ate hospital
food every night this week. I overate several times. I biked to work
only once. Hey, I'm grateful I didn't balloon up to my starting
weight, which I actually, and irrationally, feared before I stepped on
the scale. The damage isn't so terrible that if I pay attention to my
food this week and bike commute most days, the scale just might be
nice to me next week. I can hope anyway.

This is the best day of my life.

I agree, I didn't do too bad considering. I'm grateful to feel like I
can control my eating better.

Although I found those 100 calorie packs of mini-somethings you've
been raving about. Thank you very much.

Linda,

Just a small bump in the road, life happens and you have to deal with it
when it comes. Sounds like you have a plan for getting completely back on
track, so follow through with that and that pesky 2.6 will be off before you
know it.

Linda,

I'm glad to hear your mom is doing well!!! Congratulations on the bike
ride--I haven't gone on one yet this summer--I probably should before time
runs out!! Enjoy the camping when you go. My friend I just went camping on
the coast last week, it was beautiful--I was suprised at how few bugs there
were where we stayed. Have a good week and I'll keep my fingers crossed for
you for next weeks weigh in!!!

Glad to hear she's on the mend. Hope it goes well for her, and you.

Guess I should mention my WI. I'm up this week

Not surprising with all the stress you've had.
Don't worry if you have one more slight increase or maintain before
things start going your way again once you are back on track.

This is the best day of my life.

Glad to hear it

Thanks Ray. I sure hope staying on program works as well for me as it
has for you this week. I still haven't integrated a steady
toning/conditioning routine into my life. Even with the Pilates
machine sitting in my dining room.

This week my goals are to bike commute at least 3 days, go on 1 group
bike ride, and use the Pilates machine at least 4 times.

Maybe setting specific goals like this will help.
