Default Gout....

Myself and a friend had been on Atkins until recently when she started
feeling a bad pain in her foot that got worse. Today she ended up in the
Emergency and was diagnosed with gout. First thing the Doctor asked was "
are you on that Atkins diet". He says they see alot of this now because of
the high number of people on low carb high protein diet. How can you avoid
gout while on this diet. We were going into week 3 of induction.

You can make sure you're doing Atkins right. It's a high fat, moderate
protein, low carb way of eating. The basic staple of your diet should not be
protein. Also make sure you're drinking enough water.
