For me it is knowing when to stop. The points allowance actually gives
me a limit I can stick to, but while eating my own vegetarian food.
Nobody dictates what I eat, I make my own choices, but within the points
limits.

Structure and external limits so I *know* whether or not I am eating the
right amount/things. I tried a general "eat less and exercise" ... and I
guess I never wound up eating less/good food.

Two things:

Portion control
NO forbidden foods! There are things I cannot eat for other reasons,
but at least WW is realistic about holidays and treats and days when you
cannot be wholly in control of the food on offer.
