Default EXtreme Problem Need some advise

I did that for the longest time, underestimated what I was eating.
When I actually did sit down one day and gave myself a serving I
thought to myself that I am going to starve here. A serving of steak
is roughly the size of a deck of playing cards.. I was having double
that easily and rice... whoah!!!! Let's not to there.

Well, according to the byline, it would be 0.1. However, I think this
explanation is too simplistic. I think the conversion only takes place in a
situation where the brain is in need of glucose. I haven't read Lyle's book
in a while, though, but he does discuss this in The Ketogenic Diet. Jenny
talks about this on her website, too.

Roger,

Some people DO have metabolic issues. Yes, lots of people eat ten times more
than they realize and gain weight for that reason, but others do not.

Particularly when someone is extremely fat it's legitimate to suspect a
metabolic flaw. The trick, then, is to find a doctor who is willing to do
some research to find out what the flaw might be. Unfortunately, very few
doctors will run the kinds of tests it takes to find this out. sigh

That might be true, however, if he is really eating less than 2000 kcals,

I
don't think it will matter.

Something is very wrong wth Chris's the numbers, for sure. I think he

must
be eating way more than he thinks, and the scale is pegging at max.
However, I would have also thought that he'd would have noticed some

change
in the way his clothes fit. So, either he's eating too much or has some
metabolic issues.

Well, I guess anyone can make up any diet they want :-) Have you seen
my "Two Foot Diet"? But unless they changed something since he died, in
Atkins you count 1 gm of protein as 0 grams of carb. The kid, I
believe, is trying to follow Atkins.

Steve

That's true, but protein supposedly will get converted to carbs at a 0.58
percent rate. See:

Well, if he's maxed out his scale --or his scale is broken -- he may
be losing but it just isn't registering on the scale.

The suggestion to measure his waist weekly is a good one.

Nah, he lives outside of Philadelphia.

So $5 a pound for chicken? What do they feed chickens in Philly,
anyway -- gold leaf?

Actually oddly enough the only place that HAS a scale that can weigh me
(even my doctors does not go that high) is the local veterinariam. it reads
and it showing progress for my sister just fine (she has lost 23 pounds so
far) I also thought it odd that I always weigh the same. I figured their
should be at the minimum slight fluctuations of a few pounds etc.. up and
down. I certaintly PREY I am not heavier than it can weigh since that would
mean I am heavier than 365 :-(

Try stepping on the scale, stepping off, picking up something of known
weight (like a 5-pound dumbbell), and stepping back on. If the before and
after weights are the same, you'll know you're maxing out the scale.

Very good! Yes, try that.

I suspect you are maxing out the scale, but that means you can look
forward to the day you'll be under the max, and then you'll start to see
the numbers moving. They're probably moving now, but you can't see them
because of the scale limitations.

Hang in there!

what in the world is going on ? I have been 365 for over a year now. each

Stand on the scale holding a 10 lb. bag of flour. Does it still say 365?

If so, mystery solved.
