Default officially starting diet TOMORROW!!!!

I've got my goal weight in mind. got my scales, calorie counters, list of
low calorie food options, pedometer, and a newsgroup of people willing to
lend support to a total stranger!

ill be counting the calories of everything i consume. counting my steps,
what exercises i do, weighing every piece of food, only weighing myself once
a month, etc. i know it sounds drastic and a lot of work but i think i need
to do something drastic for a change. this has to happen. i dont know how im
going to do it because its going to be very difficult but i have to do it.
unfortunately im one of those people that gains weight very easily but finds
it almost impossible to lose.

ive got to do it though.

I wish you all the very best. You sound like someone who is really
ready to get started. In my experience, this sort of motivation is
what can lead to sustained effort.

I'm with you on the monthly weighing, although others will have a
different view.

The important thing in all this is to do what works for you, and be
prepared to tweak things as you discover what does and does not work.

I look forward to reading your updates and I'm sure you'll find lots
of encouragement here.

You only have to lose a few pounds, and when your pants get a little
loose, the motivation will take care of itself.

I think back to when I lost the first 10 pounds and people started
commenting on it. To think that I went on to lose nearly 50!

Didn't need the raincoat. I managed to walk more than a mile this
morning, over some hilly roads. Not bad for a 332 pound fellow. My
calves are a little sore, but other than that I feel fine.

Two more pounds to meet this month's goal. I think - no, I KNOW - I can
do it.

Best wishes to you, btm. You've put a lot of effort into the preparation
and I'm sure you'll have a successful journey. As with any journey there
will be some bumps in the road - don't let them discourage you. I doubt
anyone in the group can say they never made a mistake when they began their
weight loss plan. It just takes adjustments and the ability to jump right
back on track.

Keep us posted on your progress and post everyday - it helps!

Beverly
