Default wearing braces makes me lost 5kg...

i have been wearing braces for my teeth for nearly 10 days...and i've lost
5kg...at the first week, i did not eat any solid food, but only food like
porridge, fruit juice, yoghurt or soft food such as tofu, steam fish etc.
this was because i could not bite into hard food as it causes pain for my
teeth.. during this period my daily menu was:

breakie oat porridge with fruit juice
lunch steam tofu with rice porridge, seasoned with soy sauce and
sesame oil
dinner steam fish with fruit juice (as i normally have light dinner)
when i was hungry between meals, i will have a tub of yoghurt as snacks

i have just started to eat hard food yesterday, can have meat but have to
cut into very small piece before placing into the mouth, as i still feel not
so comfortable with chewing, but its a lot better than the first
week...below is my current menu:

breakie oat porridge with honey, black coffee
lunch grilled chicken fillet with green salad
dinner steam fish, green leaf vege and some soup

i am wondering when the uncomfortable feeling when chewing will gone, maybe
some friends who have worn or currently wearing braces would like to share
your experience with me...and also what food do you eat during the ortho
treatment...

I wore braces on my teeth more years ago than I care to remember, but I
do remember how painful they were. But the pain does go eventually, and
then the braces start to feel part of your mouth, and you can eat
normally.

Don't forget to clean your teeth, and the brace, very thoroughly after
eating - there's nothing worse than bits of food stuck in the metal!
