This program has actually helped me. Before I started, I thought I
was exercising regularly. I really did. But after actually tracking
it, and getting starts for it (stars! How quaint! How... 1st Grade.) I
found that was rarely actually getting stars. Seems I was good at
finding excuses to blow off a day here or there during the week. Didn't
seem like it was as often as I was really doing it, though, but the
stars don't lie. It caused me to focus on what I was *really* doing,
and make some changes. I've gotten full stars for 8 or 9 weeks running
now. I don't know that I would be at the activity level I am were it
not for this program.

And it seems that the program was originally started in 1966.
http://www.fitness.gov/challenge/challenge.html . This means that it
was started under President Lyndon Johnson (D). It was updated in 2003
by yes, President Bush (R). http://usinfo.state.gov/usa/fs071803.htm .

Frankly, it could have been started by some whacky third party guy,
for all I care. This really is more about helping to motivate people to
exercise, which is a good thing, than it is about politics.

I'm still a member but seldom enter my exercise. I use Fitday to
journal food and exercise and CycliStats to track my biking. Just too
many places to keep records G
