Doug's Week 78 report - up, down, all around
The problem on this trip is not with sticking to my diet - I'm doing
fine with that. The problem is that there are so many different scales I'm using I really don't know for sure what my week-to-week change is unless I'm using the same scale two weeks in a row. Last week when I came to Boston the scale first showed a big gain. But now that I have now used the same scale 2 weeks in a row here in Boston, I am showing a big loss from last week, and am back to where I was with my big loss 2 weeks ago in St. Louis. I think everything is ok, but am considering all figures "tentative" until I can compare with my regular scale back in Tokyo. This week my average daily calories came to 1454 calories/day. Since I lost 1.0 kg = 2.2 lb this week, this means my CPP (calories per pound per day needed to maintain weight) was 14.2 which is higher than average, but consistent with when I am travel and am out-and-about and more active than usual. (Lesson to be learned he be active.) My "rolling 4 week average" is currently 0.6 lb/week. My current weight graph is at http://lerner.net/diet/weight20061117.jpg. It shows that my weight loss has obviously slowed down, and I'm hopefully coming in for a "soft landing". The latest stats: * Week 78 / Day 546 * This week's loss: 1.0 kg = 2.2 lb * Weight (kg): 125.0 - 81.5 (minus 43.5 kg) * Weight (lb): 275.0 - 179.3 (minus 95.7 lb) * BMI: 41.3 - 26.9 * Percent body mass lost: 34.8% * Percent complete to goal: 95% Back to St. Louis tomorrow! doug |
