Food & Exercise -- 9/14/2004
This was the first of three days of a course I'm attending downtown.
As the commute is 1 1/2 to 2 hours each way, it makes a long day. I brought all my food for the day. No food was provided for the class, and I like to each often. And I wanted to spend the lunch break out walking and shopping rather than hurrying through some restaurant. Food: 6:00 (driving to metro station): ready-to-drink chocolate protein shake 8:30 (during course): hard-boiled egg 9:30 (during course); another hard-boiled egg 10:45 (during course); apple 1:00 (during course): sandwich w/ 2 slices whole grain bread & 78g roast chicken breast 3:15 (during course); 1 oz. mixed nuts; 4 prunes 6:00 (during workout): banana 8:30 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices melted f/f cheese; 3 mint meringue cookies Totals: 1507 calories, 45g fat (27%), 168g carbs (45%), 112g protein (30%) {I'm not gonna worry about trying to hit 1600 calories -- am more interested in going to bed soon :-) .} Exercise: Some walking around during the day -- not especially fast, as I didn't bring shoes or clothes for it. 6:00 -- Olympic lifting, cardio Shoulder warmups Power snatch: 1x5x15kg/33lbs; 1x4x17.5/38.5; 1x3x20/44; 1x3x22.5/49.5; 1 good lift and 3 more not-too-great tries at 25/55 Sets of 1 power clean and 3 jerks: 1 @ 25/55; 3 @ 30/66 Front squats: 1x5x20/44; 1x5x30/77; 3x3x40/88 Crunches on Swiss ball holding 25 lb. plate over my chest with straight arms -- 2x20 Some lower back stretches Cardio program week 16, Interval Day: 18 minutes on treadmill: 2 x (3 minutes at 2.3, 3 minutes at 6.3, 3 minutes at 4.3) Pedometer count for the day: 11488 (includes gym time) Chris 262/137/ (135-145) |
