hey all.

my goodness, what happened here? I see a few names I remember but the
signal to noise ratio is either gotten way worse than I remember it or my
memory has major holes in it.

still hovering around 138 or so, and I'm not trying to lose more, although
it would be nice.

my major concern is the faq has gone missing. I hope its just being
updated, cuz I want to get my sister started (still) and that was the best
collection of info out there. lowcarb.org is ok, but seems to me to be a
little confusing/daunting for a newbie.

I've pointed her there for the time being, and also sent her links to gary
taubes articles, but I'd really like to know what the heck happened to the
faq.

hugs all around for the oldtimers

I don't know what became of the FAQ. Rudy used to post the links and
I haven't seen him or the FAQ in a long time. And you're right, not
many of us long timers left here. There are some of us still here
that monitor it though and I'm sure you'll hear from them. But the
level of useful activity is way down. Most of the traffic here from
years gone by was generated by newbies asking questions, which then
brought replies from those of us with experience. Without that,
there doesn't seem to be much to talk to each other about. And much
of the rest of the posts have been taken over by OT spam and silly
replies that just perpetuate the spam,

For your sister, I'd suggest getting a copy of DANDR, the Atkins
book. You can pick them up for $5 or so.
