Question
I keep reading that too few calories ingested can cause the body to go
into starvation mode. What would be the appropriate amount of calories for a person who wants to lose weight, is in the induction phase of ATkins and has a BMR of 1330? TIA Merry |

With a BMR of 1330 you are already quite small. Are you an anorexic trying
to lose weight? "Merry Darr" wrote in message ... I keep reading that too few calories ingested can cause the body to go into starvation mode. A good place to start is around 10 to 12 times your current weight in calories. If you don't lose weight at that level then either add some more exercise or cut back on calories. (Adding more exercise is the better choice.) You shouldn't eat less than your BMR on a regular basis. -- Jeri "Change is inevitable, except from vending machines." Thank you so much that is exactly the information I needed. I knew I came to the right place :-) Merry |

If I had a BMR of 1330 I'd still be around 25 to 35 pounds overweight. Hint: I'm not anorexic I'm 4'11" tall. -- Jeri "Change is inevitable, except from vending machines." |
