Default Receipes/Please help me!

I am a male 31 and 6 feet tall weighting 216 lbs. I have gained 15 lbs
in the last 2 months and 50 since 1996. I try to watch what I eat and
I exercise 5-6 days a week running for 30 - 45 minutes. I still can
not loose weight.

I am interested in trying the low carb thing but need some receipes of
some things I can eat. I pack my lunch during the week and need
something I can fix for breakfast that does not take long to fix up
and is satisfying.

I tried the Atkins for about a week and was starving and could not
stay on it.
Breakfast was the harest meal because all I could eat was bacon and
eggs. That got old and difficult to fix. (for a guy anyway).

All of my weight is in my abdomen and it is constantly bloated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do try some of the muffin recipes, they are lc and filling, you can even buy
the packaged kind but home made are better. I have learned that for this
woe you are going to either have to cook or put up with expensive ready made
stuff that is hard to find. If you will spend a couple of hours on Saturday
or Sunday praring your food for the coming week in adnce this will be very
easy for you.

Suggestions:
Make 2 batches of muffins, 2 varieties. Put in ziploc bags 2 at a time
which would constitute a breakfast. Slice some deli meats and cheeses and
place them also in individual containers. Buy and break off some lettuce
leaves, wash and dry them and place them in an easy to grab container. Hard
boil some eggs. Make some Atkins revolution rolls, they are great to serve
as "bread".
Try Keto shakes. I mix 8oz water, 2 scoops and a cup of ice in the blender,
it is filling and tastes great with only 1 carb per serving. Make a large
batch of "I can't believe it's not french toast" which is made with eggs
cream and pork rinds. make them without the vanilla and sugar if you like
and they too can serve as a bread. leave the goodies in and they almost
taste like a monte cristo.

The secret here is planning ahead.

My Sour cream revolution rolls are posted here (old nic jabbathehut) as well
as the french toast recipe along with a plethora of others.

Good luck and stick with it!

If you don't mind buying your way out of things. You can buy pre-cooked
anything! Chicken strips,,, eggs, sausage patties, link sausages and such.
Good breakfast toss togethers. For lunches,, just cook up extra meats the
night before and take the left overs. Buy the pre cut veggies (broccoli,
cauliflower and such) and toss them in a baggies. My husband does the beef
sticks and string cheeses too. Drink plenty of water,,, and fire up the
grill everynight, toss more than a meals worth on. Even left over hamburger
patties in the AM with melted cheese nuked on will work. Breakfast does not
need to be breakfast food.

ps,, someone will give you the eggs in the muffins recipe I'm sure. If not,
good look here. Online version

And eggs don't have to be hard to cook, an easy and delicious way is to
scramble up a few eggs with some chunks of cheese and cook in the microwave
for a couple of minutes. Only one dish dirtied and they are ready in a
flash. If you use different types of cheese you will have variety.
Actually, eggs are a great vehicle for all kinds of things. Some left over
veggies, sausage, ham, cottage cheese if you are off induction... You can
do them in the microwave or scramble in a pan.

Hi, welcome to our group and the LC WOL! I can understand your
frustration -- the first weeks are kind of hard just getting started
and all. We need to find you some things to eat!

Do you like deviled eggs? You can make them up in advance (mash the
yolks with a little mayo and mustard), wrap them in saran wrap and
even take them to work with you. My daughter put her foot down after a
few weeks of LC and said, "I WILL NOT eat another egg, in any way
shape or form!", and she hasn't (and that was 4 months ago). What she
eats every morning is cottage cheese (4% Milkfat). You might give
that a try.

I always buy the little roasted chickens at the grocery store -- you
know the ones they have already cooked and warm in the deli section.
I take it home and strip it off the bones and put in tupperware to
munch on whenever I/we need something quick for a meal/snack, etc.
You don't have to only have eggs for breakfast, you know. Buy
prewashed packaged salad mix. It's easy to make a salad quickly.
Find a dressing (full fat and yummy, of course) that you really like.
Oh, and cheese sticks. We always keep those on hand, different
varieties. They travel well. Macadamia nuts are great snacks if you
can limit yourself to a *small* handful a day. Canned tuna works in a
pinch. I wish I could think of other things. I always make sure to
cook extra meat no matter what I make, so there's leftovers (for
breakfast, perhaps). Just make sure you have things on hand so you
don't feel like you have to go hungry while you scrounge for something
edible!

You'll get great ideas here -- these "old timers" are incredible!

Good luck,
Kathy

Hey Don,

I do it a couple different ways depending on what I want:
1) Scramble a couple eggs, put in micro-safe bowl and cook on high about 1-2
minutes.
2) Pouched eggs: cooking spray a soup bowl, add eggs follow the above
directions.

Put them in a microwavable dish, you can scramble them up first or leave the
yolks whole though I like them better scrambled. Then nuke for 1-2 minutes.
I usually nuke for 1 minute then look at them, perhaps stir them a bit and
nuke till done. Can't give exact times because microwaves differ in their
power and it will also depend on how many eggs you have.

They are also good poached in a little bouillon or beef broth, maybe throw
in a sprinkling of dehydrated onions.
