Default OT - mom's stressed out

Doesn't appear to look like that clothing cushion is going to stick around this
week. Lots of salty foods, as well as female stuff going on. I'll have to see
where I'm at in a few weeks. But up isn't necessarily bad ... from where I was at
last week. Except that I finally convinced myself to lose a teeny bit more.
Maybe I'll put that thought on hold until after the holidays. Or maybe I should
hold onto that thought to get me through the holidays. G

At the meeting the other day, she already mentioned Halloween. And
said they just keep coming till the New Year. So if not a clothing
cushion, then maybe a holiday one. I do not want to gain back since
it is also Winter.

Same here, definitely do not want to gain it back. I also do want to relax a bit
through the holidays. I never thought about halloween, my kids are past that age.
Maybe we should write a letter to miss meringue and ask them to package their
cookies into individual bags - then could give those out as treats to the kiddies.
At least the leftovers would be *safe*. grin

I relaxed last year after suffering through Thanksgiving. I ate but
not like I would have in a former life and watched it carefully on the
other days and meals around the bigger parties.

Ya know what's funny? I don't remember suffering at all through the holidays last
year. I kind of just took them in stride. I kept track of my points, am sure I
was over the top yet not as bad as I would have been had I not counted at all.
And like you, probably compensated for the indiscretions the rest of the week. I
hope to be able to attack things the same this year. Only time will tell. But
know what? If I cave, I *think* I know how to deal with it now. g

That is a great idea - since most parents no longer allow kids
UNPACKAGED items. They are for the most part fat free and more
healthy than some snacks.

I had thought about packing them into little baggies myself, but for the same
reason you stated ... I won't. I remember my kids bringing home treats like that,
and they usually just went into the trash - unless they could tell me exactly who
they got them from. It's such a shame that a few rotten individuals can make
things so difficult.

Thanks Kristin. Both of us are doing much better now, and we do know how
incredibly fortunate he was that he wasn't injured.

Sorry this is late, Joyce... but thank the Lord your son wasn't injured

Does pacing earn any activity points? I didn't make it to the treadmill

today,
been too stressed out, worried, agitated, emotionally drained ... you name

it. My
son called this morning, was in an accident while traveling back to

college (he is
physically fine). He was going through an intersection, lady made a left

turn
right in front of him. He veered out of the way to avoid broadsiding her,

hit the
stop light on the opposite corner (he was heading north, hit the stoplight

heading
east) but missed the rest of the oncoming traffic ... she took off. Just

ducky,
eh? Messed up his car pretty good from what I was told ... cars can be

fixed,
important thing is he is ok. I wish I could thank the good samaritan that

stopped
to check on his welfare and stayed with him until the police arrived. It

was a
wonderful thing for a stranger to do, for an out of state young college

student.
I wish I could hug my baby.

Joyce still pacing

Well, Thanksgiving was the first and I was trying to meet the points
and it was IMPOSSIBLE. After that, I just was careful but not fanatic
about intake. And that worked. A bit too much but not a lot too
much.

Yup - an awful pain for a fun holiday.

Maybe it was a bit easier for me since I started ww AFTER the holidays the
previous year. Starting in february gave me lots of time to make new habits
before the holiday season approached. I also had lost a pretty good amount of
weight, so had that extra incentive working for me. I'll have to keep that weight
incentive in mind this year, and hope it's enough to keep me focused.
