Default Nutritionist Meeting today

Hi all,
First of all, kudos to the cool goal reaching done this week, congrats
folks!!!! I got a great tip, for every pound I reach toward my goal,
I've set aside two dollars into my "skinny gal" dress fund.

I had the nutritionist first meeting today. She went over my food diary,
and we found "creeping" caloric stuff that I hadn't noticed before.
Although my calorie take is about right at 1100 to 1300 calories a day,
my bad fats intake is higher, and thats affecting the number of fat
grams that gets burned off daily. So, we're working on streamlining my
live-it. She recommended I only lose six pounds, and stay around 124 -
126 pounds, but we've built a chart of the weight gain over the last six
months, and with an increase of two pounds per month, after being at a
plateau for two years, she's concerned I'm not burning calories
properly. So, blood work can help figure out why.

For others who are battling long term illness, depression, etc. what
have you been able to do to help motivate you during times of intense
pain? That's been my biggest issue.

thanks

Cathe

For me, it's been the strong inner desire to never be obese again. I've had
some health issues that have interfered with my ability to lose weight
(though apparently I'm just a drama queen now). I also did a pretty radical
and extreme diet (another drama queen thing apparently) after 25 years of
unsuccessful weight loss attempts and had some ill effects of that which
I've had to overcome and work on my metabolism.

It would have been really easy to give up after the first few months, even
after 9 months, but I just chose to continue to pursue my goal and find my
way around the obstacles and I've seen some big improvements lately. I also
found a fantastic support system of some very bright, successful people that
didn't pretend they knew everything and provided me with some mega
encouragement that really helped me to not give up on myself.

Sounds like your visit with the nutritionist was successful so far. I hope
that it works out for you!

Jenn

Thanks Jenn. I appreciate the time you took to respond. I don't take
much personally when character is attacked on line... I've learned that
when I meet people in person, they often change tone completely, or I'm
misunderstanding them until I hear how they put things in person.

I'm glad you're getting some great support. It sounds like you're moving
in the right directions.
