Default Plateau - Help!

Hello everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted....and I think I have hit this wall
called a "plateau". During the entire month of April I was yo-yoing the
same weight over and over. Finally in May, it started to fall off, little
by little. I was so excited! Well, Memorial Day weekend, my DH and I went
on cruise and I thought I had gained 5 lbs. I did not count points, but I
did not pig out either. I did eat well and ate things I normally wouldn't
at home and drank a few yummy concoctions! : ) Anyway, got back and went
to WW last week and I had gained 2 pounds. Not bad, considering. Well, I
did really well this past week. Did my exercises (not as much I was doing 3
months ago, but at least 3-4 times a week) and sticking to OP (for the most
part, but had a bad day on Monday) - other than that, did pretty well and
was pleased that I was getting into good habits again. Well, I knew that
the little scale didn't go down cuz I weigh at home (have a great WW scale,
btw). I gained a half of a pound. Ugh. I know - this happens. Well, I
asked my leader what she suggested about a plateau and she gave me some good
info. One was a meal plan for getting back on track (kinda like fast track
where you only eat 20 points a day). UGH! I eat 28 currently. I did Fast
Track in Jan and I did lose, but I've lost without starving myself also. I
was starving doing the 20 points. Any suggestions on how to get out of the
rut? I thought about increasing activity gradually more and more since
we're in the summer months and it would be easier. I try not to beat myself
up over the numbers and look ahead. That's the hardest thing to do. My DH
and I are also planning on starting a family at the end of the year. He has
been so supportive and I told him that I wanted to join WW first and see
where I am in a year. BTW - any moms or moms to be or moms in the planning
out there? I know I'm not gonna weigh 130 by the time I get pregnant, but I
do want to get to onederland and then some and be healthy. I know I can.
It's not that far off, I just have to give it my best shot. Anyway, I've
been OP since December and have lost 22 pounds. I just need a push to get
me over that hump cuz I've been floating around the same numbers for too
long. It's time for me to get over it. I know it doesn't happen overnight.
I am dedicated. I have never missed a meeting. I am human though and do
slip up and overeat from time to time. I know that's life, but maybe it's
causing me to stumble. I don't know. Any advice out there?

Thanks guys!

Default Plateau - Help!

Some times a plateau can be caused by eating the same foods day in and day
out. Try shaking up your menus each day to see if that helps. I now have a
different breakfast each day instead of always having cereal & milk.

Default Plateau - Help!

The Fast Track menus also could be used as your foundation for your allowed
28 points. Following it will provide the enough variety in your menu that
might help break this plateau.

Another thought would be to try some form of the "Wendie" plan found he
http://www.stormpc.com/ww/wendie_plan.htm

The idea here is to vary your points from day to day in order to keep your
metabolism "guessing" and not in starvation mode.

Well, I lost whatever I was trying to post so let's see how trying to
write it again goes.

Generally, it went like - give yourself another week before reaching
conclusions since the cruise might still be affecting you.

But if the 20 point plan that ww provided helped but is too severe,
use it as the basis for the next week or so but add 2 or 3 points to
it to avoid hunger. Saute in olive oil, add nuts as a snack, have an
egg at breakfast or some similar small additions to bring it up to 22
or 23 points. That way you have the basis of a menu and don't have to
try being too creative if you are not in the mood. It is all planned
but with some small additions keeping you under your allotted 28
points.

Good luck

I am on a three month stall, I have gone to 87 meetings, and only skipped
one lecture after weighing, you are not in my opinion having a plateau, I
don't think you can call it that until after six weeks or so, and as far as
advice, just keep doing what you are doing and be patient, best of luck lee

Default Plateau - Help!

Whenever my weight-loss seemed to stall, it was always that I was
eating too many carbohydrates (my fav thing in the world!). Examine
your journal, see if you are eating an abundance of carby-sugary
things. Then try to substitute an extra protein or two in for the
day. Always seems to work for me.

When ever I have gotten stuck it is usually due to eating the same foods
every day especialy breakfasts. So now I have something different every day.
