Well, now, aside from the rambling, there is uh more rambling. Including
a definition of how the apestat works. Pass that along to World Of
Science, Dave, they can't agree how it functions and some don't agree
that it is cantered in the hypothalamus.

Dave has several premises, none new, the apestat has been fooled by
alien chemicals, etc and at least he does say these are opinions.

What we do know about its functioning is that gluttony, psychosomatic
issues and other conscious and unconscious mechanisms will override it.
When that happens, obesity occurs.

The single problem with the apestat as Dave believes is his assertion
that it is calorically driven. If you follow his video, he states that
the apestat regulates food intake by telling us when we are full or when
we need to eat. This is hogwash because the apestat knows volume not
calories when eating. Why would we expect that it could count calories
when humans have no exact way of doing that (outside of a laboratory)
themselves.

Further, I can't count the number of times I have been calorie deficient
to activity levels and not felt any need to eat whatsoever.

But isn't that what hunger is, the need to eat? It may be an indication
but it certainly isn't the warning signal we all want to make it. Hunger
can be nothing more than having an empty stomach, nothing more than
that. Do obese people never get hungry? Hearing from them, you would
think hey have increased hunger levels. I believe they have increased
sensitivity to empty stomachs.

I applaud Dave's efforts, I really do but like most people, he's dieting
down the wrong track. The body will lie to you even when it is unaltered
chemically and otherwise.

If we re-look at hunger as nothing more than a suggestion to eat, that
an empty stomach is inconvenient but not necessarily drives a food
intake plan, who cares whether or not our apestats are out of whack.

I eat less than two pounds of food nearly every day. I add an Ounce Of
Common Sense in food selection. I ignore hunger, have few empty stomach
issues, it is used to being empty.

Two pounds of food daily is very easy to learn, portion sizes become
second nature, I stopped weighing out my food after six weeks +/-. The
only time my weight fluctuates is when I find myself eating multiple
times a day for whatever reason usually since I know that there will be
no time for the one meal I customarily always eat, dinner.

Even then, my stomach and my fullness tell me very quickly as I become
uncomfortable as I exceed that 2PD limitation.

So Dave, you made many valid points but Joliffe when he coined the term
five decades ago, he was talking about a complex biochemical mechanism
but he forgot to say that the apestat works best only to keep one from
starving to death.

Hey, on the last video on weight loss, you mention a suppressed diet
drug...what was it again?

I found the illegal drug info!

The drug is called DIP for Dinitrophenol.

Thanks, I couldn't begin to know what words to google it based on your
video...I like getting the most information about something, doesn't mean I
agree with it or will take the substance..
