Dessert anyone
Hi,
I just found this group but I have been doing Atkins since June 1 and I have lost 43 pounds. I was wondering if anyone has any decent dessert suggestions. I need stuff that doesn't involve too much artificial sweeteners, even Splenda. I can actually taste it and it does not taste like sugar to me. Any ideas? Thanks |

How about strawberries and whipped cream? Sugar free jello?

Amaretto Truffles
2 1/2 tbs Hershey's cocoa 4 capfull's DaVinci Sugar-Free Amaretto Syrup 1/2 TBS butter, melted Stir the syrup into the cocoa in a mixing bowl. Slowly add the melted butter, stirring continuously. Roll into 3/4 in balls with clean fingers and then dip into the cocoa powder to coat. Makes 5. Carbs should be about 1 per truffle. --------- Whipped Jell-O 1 pint heavy whipping cream 1 small (3 oz.) box of Sugar Free Lime Jell-O With mixer beaters and bowl properly chilled, pour the Jell-O in and then the cream. Beat on high for 5 minutes or so until whipped-cream consistency. Spoon into individual serving dishes and refrigerate. ------------------------------------ Fanny's Quick and Easy, No-bake, Two-layer Pumpkin Pie First, you'd just do a crust like the one you do for your cheesecake (1c finely chopped nuts, 5T butter, 1 egg yolk, all-spice). Then: Bottom Layer: A can of pumpkin A box of sugar-free vanilla pudding 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/4 tsp. cloves Topping: 8 oz cream cheese 1 cup whipped cream 1/2 tsp vanilla extract All-spice to taste Mix bottom layer ingredients together and pour over crust. Cream the cream cheese and fold together with whipped cream, all-spice and vanilla. Pour on top of bottom layer. Let set in refrigerator for a few hours. "seagullDC" wrote in message om... Try using DaVinci sugar free caramel syrup instead of powdered splenda for
your low carb cooking. It doesn't have anywhere near as strong an aftertaste and there are no hidden carbs (as there are in the powder.) http://www.geocities.com/jenny_the_bean/recipes.htm has my favorite low carb desserts--macaroons, pumpkin bread, almond cookies, cream cheese fudge etc. -- Jenny - Low Carbing for 4 years. My favorite dessert is similar: 1/4 cup frozen blueberries 1/4 cup LC granola (I use Gram's Gourmet Flax 'n Nut Crunchies) 1/2 cup whole milk, plain Stoneyfarm's yogurt 1 or 2 tsp. DaVinci sugar free syrup (I use caramel, english toffee, amaretto...whatever is available!) And then there are days I substitute this for breakfast or lunch! Aloha...Sue |
