Peter,

Apparently you aren't a country kid or a small town guy. Gizzards are
GOOD if cooked right.
I've eaten them all of my life. Chicken gizzards and chicken livers were
always fried along with the rest of the chicken. Didn't know I wasn't
supposed to like them.

Well, now you do know and we're watching to make sure you never=20

Yes, to me.

Fried, you say...?

I don't use a batter on mine... um, I've heard that some people don't=20
batter them. Just a light saut=E9 with S&P, garlic and a fruity olive=20
oil on relatively low heat. Er, so I've read. This is what you=20
shouldn't do. Because you're not supposed to like them.

We've always cooked the 'innards' when we've had a whole chicken. Lightly
floured, sautéed with onion and rice, add broth or water, fresh tomato, if
you got it. Even celery or mushrooms.
My mother started making it for the dog when there wasn't anyone at home to
eat it all until my husband found out....he was passing through the
kitchen,, lifted the lid on the pot, and wanted some. When Mom said it was
for the dog I thought he would cry.
LOLs!
