Default Weight Loss Limits

I was medically discharged from the Army 7 years ago, told to take a
fist full of pills everyday. Since then I've put on an avg of 10 kg per
year.

A few days ago we took possession of a treadmill. Walking is something
that I do well & the treadmill has given me a new lease on life. Through
a very comfortable exercise regime, I've lost 6 kg in 3 days. I'll be
seeing my g.p. at the end of the week so I'll be asking him, in the mean
time, what's an acceptable weight loss on a daily/weekly basis?

I believe that I'm playing with fire doing this much exercise after such
a long period of inactivity, however, as I run the risk of a heart
attack just from being obese, the risk of a heart attack via sudden
weight loss is acceptable to me.

when you first start dieting and exercising a lot of what you lose is water.
Once that has stablized, weight watchers recommends .5 to 2 pounds per week
as healthy. This is consistent with what other medical websites have
written.
