Default Vacations don't have to result in weight gain

I just returned from a short vacation to Tennessee with the granddaughters
and I'm happy to report my weight has remained the same. I definitely
didn't limit myself when it came to eating but I did make an effort to
choose healthy most of the time. I doubt the Ben & Jerry's Chunky Monkey
double dip waffle cone was healthy but it was goodg I'm sure the swimming
in the water park and all the walking in Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains
helped to keep the weight down. It was really hard to find level ground and
the legs really received a workout. We visited Clingman's Dome (highest
point in the Smokies) and I really found it harder to breathe. The one mile
walk left me slightly out of breath. I didn't experience this problem at
the lower elevations.

I'll be starting the second 10 week session of WW at work today. I'm just
glad I won't have to see a gain from this vacation. It's back to Bally's
tonight and bike riding this weekend.

Glad you had fun in Tennessee, and way to go on making it a healthy vacation -- I
have found that they are actually more fun because there's no "hangover." Sounds like
you chose your indulgences wisely and kept up your exercise and that is wonderful!

I just came off a week and some holiday too- I didn't go anywhere; I just
didn't go to work! It was a well deserved break and even though I was at
home, it was great just to do nothing.

Curiously, I found it alot harder to stay on my WOE. For you stay-at-homers,
I applaud your strength. When I'm at work with our rigid break times and
half hour lunch, it's easy to prep things to eat during the day. While I was
at home, I was constantly watching the clock to see if it was time to eat
yet. g

I didn't do a single lick of excersize either... and I don't feel guilty
about it. I did drop a pound, too, LOL. How I managed that, I have no clue!

I find it harder to stick with the WOE when I'm at home, too. I do much
better when I plan something for my days off. I only work four days each
week. I also find my eating times and habits change on these days. I often
find myself eating only two meals with a couple snacks on my days off. In
the summer months I do quite a bit of biking on my days off but I'll have to
find something else to do when the bad weather hits. Hopefully I can get
into the habit of going to the gym.

Glad to hear you managed to lose a pound while you were on vacation.
