Default I have changed diets

I was on a strict "no carb" diet that I started May 1- and was not
losing ANYTHING!!! Took this as a hint from my body that it did not
want to do the "no carb" diet that I did 6 years ago and lost alot of
weight on. So a week ago, I started portion control instead, and have
lost 4 pounds. Hope it's the change of diet that made the
difference. So here I go again.

You will lose weight on ANY diet that cuts your calories below your
maintenance level. What your "no carb" diet tells you is that you are still
eating TOO MUCH.

You really wouldn't want to do no carb... that pretty much eliminates
fruits and veggies and fiber, which are good for you! I try to keep
fruits at no more than 3 servings a day, but veggies, I try to eat
those with every meal, at the rate of a cup or two per meal.

I limit starchy carbs, and try to be sure that what starchier carbs I
do have are whole grains, beans, legumes, that sort of thing as much
as possible. And I usually try to eat such only after exercising.

Portion control is useful too. I think that has to be a part of most
diets in one way or another. It could've just been time frame though
or the change of diet that shook things up for you. Too early to tell.
Keep monitoring.

I've been pretty good eating and exercising lately and the scales
still weren't moving until TODAY.

I'm currently on the low carb diet for the second time. I started it
the first time back in 2002 with Dr. Atkins. I lost 32 pounds in 4
months. I had a blast on the diet and I actually kept the weight off
for a while. It took me 4 years to gain back 20 of those 32 pounds.
Now, I'm back on it again. I'm really having fun this time around
although I'm not being too strict with it.

Now my advice to you. There could be a couple of reasons why you
didn't lose any weight. If you didn't eat enough food, you many not
lose anything. Some people don't always lose when they go on low carb
diets simply because of metabolic resistance. Secondly, it could be
because since this is your second time doing the diet, I've read in my
research that you may not lose weight as quickly as you did doing the
diet the first time. This has held true for me this time around
because I only lost 5 pounds in my first week when my first time I
went on it, I lost 8 pounds. It's the luck of the draw I guess.
