Default Exercise DVD/Book - Strength training

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could commend a good introduction to
strength training/intro to cardio DVD or book - for my 60 year old
mother, around 30lbs overweight, smoker, and a complete newbie to
exercise. I'm finding it difficult to find something which wouldn't be
too daunting. I had been looking at the weigh****cher series - but it
doesn't give too much indication of level, especially in respect to
how much the DVD concentrates on weights (which I think would be a
great help to her).

There's no chance of her going to a gym! But she has made a
committment to get healthier (unfortunately, this doesn't involve
giving up smoking!).

Thanks!

R
