If you need any further proof of America's obesity problem...
Take this morning, here in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Traffic is backed up and becoming a problem. One lane is blocked completely, causing commuters to have to make the transition over to the next lane and creating one hell of a slowdown. Why? There's a new Krispy Kreme that opened on South Shackleford. Last night around 9:30 I was driving to a friend's house and had to take S. Shackleford to get there. Still one lane closed, and a huge line of cars in the lane to turn into KK. Traffic monitors were even there. You know, there's NEVER a line to get into Powerhouse Gym, which is about 10 miles away. Matter of fact, the parking is just like at church...it's *great*. I've resolved never to step foot in that Krispy Kreme. Why add to the chaos? SC (formerly JBA) |

There's a new Krispy Kreme that opened on South Shackleford. SC (formerly JBA) Mmmmmmmm, Krispy Kreme. I must say I love a hot glazed donut. Haven't had one in a while, but think I may have to get one sometime soon. It has been several months. I am due for my yearly donut. Thanks for the reminder. ;0 Curt |

They've been known to make strong men cry, grown women swoon and I'm pretty sure they're single-handedly responsible for the entire "Cop Rock" debacle. G Take care, Carmen PS If you're too young to remember Cop Rock it was a horrible *musical* television program set in a police precinct. Suspects and police would all break out in song and dance routines without provocation. shudder It died quickly. |

G Sugar does that. We have a Krispy Kreme in El Cajon. Frankly, I don't get the attraction. They're just too d@mned sweet! Even for donuts, they're over the top. Ick. The same thing happened here when a Krispy Kreme opened south of Denver a
couple of years ago; it was the first in the Denver area. Douglas County Sheriff's office had to guide traffic to/past the evil sugar palace for about 3 weeks, and for a while there was a 3 block long line to get a box of donuts. Eventually the commotion died down, now it has a lot less traffic than your average McDonald's. Of course, that doesn't stop the company suck-up where I work from bringing a couple dozen donuts to work every Friday morning. Excellent company to have stock in, though! MJ. And coming from me, that's really saying something. I'm like Jack Nicholson in "The Witches of Eastwick." Susan Sarandon is making him a cup of tea and asks if he wants one lump (of sugar) or two. He replies, "Four." I like to make everything sweet; and if it's already sweet, I like to make it sweeter. But Krispy Kremes are too sweet even for ME. Reb |
