Clearly the eating is what you need to work on. Your day got off to a good start, but the lemonade is nothing but a bunch of calories from sugar, and the smoothie isn't a whole lot better. You need to spend more of your calories on real foods. (But I think you know this...) Chris 262/130s/130s maintaining since June 2004 |

Food & Workout Log 8/22/07
Yes, most definitely, but I am getting better, trust me. The food log
I have kept on here has better food choices than I've had in about a month. I keep learning things to avoid too, because I'll eat something and then check the calories online and be shocked by some, like the lemonade, for instance. I always drink a lot at restaurants and when I was at Chili's and had the black bean burger, I had three glasses w/o even realizing it. When I came home I saw online that it's about 80 calories a glass- that added up bigtime! Today I did much better and avoided getting the usual, lemonade, at Panera Bread and got bottled water instead. Last night I hadn't eaten dinner, but I was going to get a low-cal smoothie from this place that I know that uses splenda so the calories are really low, but they were closed by then, so I went to Sonic, was hungry, but didn't want a bunch of grease-ladden from there, so I opted for just small tots and a smoothie. Little did I know, the smoothie had twice the cals of the tots, even though it was advertised as no-fat. (bunch of bull, because there IS no fat, but there's 440 cals!) It sounds like you are learning good things from counting your calories and posting here, then. As a next step, you might want to think of some goals for the macronutrients (fat, carbs, and protein) and try to aim for those. Your diet looks way heavy on carbs and low on protein. It might be that focusing on this a bit would help you make better food choices. If I were out in the evening and starving, I'd aim for something like a Panera (good salads), Subway (good healthy subs), or even a McDonald's sort of place with grilled chicken sandwiches before I'd go to eat tater tots and a smoothie, as I'd know these wouldn't have much protein and wouldn't be very satisfying for me.
