How long is it?

It's a bit over 4 miles. The best way to do it though is to walk through
the hotels so you can get in the air conditioning and get fresh bottles
of water as needed. I walked the strip once a few years back and I still
remember it today. It was hard, but good exercise.

Sounds like a good plan. Do you know if the MGM Grand is on the
strip?

Yes, it's toward the south end. There are a few places south of it, like
Mandalay Bay which is the farthest south of the major strip casinos. We've
stayed at the Riviera which is on the north end, but the Stratosphere is
the
farthest north of the strip casinos. It's pretty easy to cut through
casinos and it even adds distance. Lots of malls inside those places too
which I found more dangerous than the casino floors

Tonight DH told me I couldn't buy any clothes in Las Vegas (after I
came back from Old Navy with a bag full). I asked why not and he
said, "Well, you know, you can't bring anything home with you." (Took
me a minute -- as in, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.")

I had my shoes shipped home - bought about 4 pairs there. The shopping
might not be a big deal if you live near an urban area, but for me it was
complete heaven. The only place I wish I could have purchased something but
didn't was Harry Winston in Caesar's
