Very cool! It's interesting to me that there are now people I know
pretty
well who have never known me *other* than small & fit. Sometimes it
seems
as if I was some other person. A gal I see only several times a year
just
beams at me and shakes her head.

One day I'll run out of people who haven't seen me since I lost weight,
but
until then I plan on enjoying every shocked expression and encounter.

Every year our department does a little recognition and reward
celebration. This year one of our IT people did a powerpoint
presentation featuring the staff doing what they do best. Imagine how
surprised I was when a photo of me at 168 lbs flashed on the
screen--then a 140 lb shot--then a 120's--then current. Some of the
newer staff were flabergasted. They had no idea. I had no idea that
staying fit was my special talent, either.

That's pretty awesome that they noticed and wanted to share your success
with the rest of the department.

That's super! What wonderful tribute. I sort of treated my transformation
as a project all along. Right now, I feel like losing weight and getting
fit IS my special talent.

Now to fine tune the talent of *keeping* it that way . . .

At my class last week I was trying to save a photo someone took of me with
the instructor (who looked like Bill Gates) and the guy sitting next to me
saw my wedding picture (I have the thumbnail view on). He asked who those
people were and I when I told him he couldn't believe it, so I showed him a
few other pics. During the break he told a few of the other guys who asked
to see the picture and they were all stunned.

Yesterday in class I was showing a video we made last year to give the kids
some ideas for this year's video. In the video were shots of me and another
teacher who has been very successful on HMR (there are 6 staff members
currently in the program) and the kids were shocked at the difference. They
asked me to rewind the tape to see it again. Comments were made like "I
don't remember you being *that* fat Mrs. A!"

I enjoy reintroducing myself to old friends who haven't seen me in a long
time.

Jenn
