Default Arby's New Low Carb Menu??

Hi,

I was driving by a local Arby's yesterday and was shocked to see on
their sign "Our New Arby's Low Carby Menu is Here!". I had seen no
advertising of it anywhere else, no commercials, nothing.

I just went to their web site and sure enough, near the end of their
nutrition info they have a list of their "Low Carby" items that they
claim are "limited time only" items not carried by all Arby's.

It appears to be their regular menu without the bread or bun. They
have the Market Fresh items, the Roast Beef sandwiches by the same
names, etc.

Has anyone tried this or seen it? Sounds like they hand you a plate
with the insides of a sandwich sitting on it.

I do the EnglishTurkish translation for Arby's in Turkey.

From what I understand of how it's being implemented here, the LC menu means
you can have salad instead of bread & potatoes.

Just what you need. Fast food. So you can get fat even faster.

About a couple of weeks ago, I had a low carb Deluxe BLT. It wasn't bad at
all. They gave me two or three leaves of romaine, a couple of nice slices
of tomato, and my choice of regular or light mayo on the side. It was
served in one of their covered salad bowls and you had to put it together
yourself (so it was kind of messy), but the manager said that later on they
will start serving them as wraps like Subway or burritos at Taco Bell. The
only drawback was the price: $4.50 or so. She also mentioned that they
could do any of their sandwiches that way.

'Low Carbys at Arbys' sounds a whole lot better than Mcdonalds' 'Protein
Platter', as advertised on their sign .....I'm not THAT curious.... has
anybody tried this either?

Ah, my favorite part of a newgroup. People who instead of joining a
mature discussion of a topic, just post a rude one-liner in a thread
and move on. Not very productive.

That said...

This post is about Arby's low-carb items. Yes, Arby's is considered a
"fast food" restaurant, but their roast beef and chicken is very lean
when by itself and a plate of Arby's roast beef with lettuce and
tomatoe minus the roll and fries would, in fact, probably be healthier
than alot of what I would make at home. Lean meat and vegetables are
NOT "fast food".

Thanks everyone else for the input. I will have to try one of these
soon and see how it is. I have eaten at Arby's a few times since going
low-carb and have thrown out the roll and skipped the fries. It was
"low-carb" but I really hate to throw away food like the roll. I much
prefer they don't give it to me instead.
