I remember reading somewhere that if you drink coffee you only poop

once a
day
usually soon AFTER you drink it.

You go at *least once a day-- how often you go depends more on what you
eat and how active your bowels are. Caffeine stimulates the bowels
enough to wake it out of "I'm still asleep, gimme another hour I'll be
working by the middle of the commute" stage, where you don't always have
access to a restroom. It takes about 15 minutes after drinking for the
desired effect, I've found. If you are semi-dependent on caffeine to
do this for you it can cause delays in the queue when you go cold
turkey.

it's not just coffee that does this, you can drink any sort of hot
liquid and get the same effect.

Coffee doesn't make you constipated but one thing that definitely does is
painkillers, some, like codeine, are particularly bad, but even OTC pain
meds will slow things down.

I find the instand coffee granuals are great for stirring things up!

BTW, is there a problem if you don't go for 3 or 4 days at a time?
Some people have slow moving bowles!

Does it hurt or do you have to strain when you do? If not, then no.

Really. No matter what some say about regularity.

I haven't found this to be true for me personally.

Are you drinking all of your water? I find that if I drink my eight
glasses (or more) per day it hydrates my stool enough to go daily.
