Carbolite
Good evening!
Just wondering if anyone is familiar with carbolite products and what if anything good is to be said about them. Thanks for any responses! JEB |

I've eaten many of the varieties of candy bars offered by Carbolite. They
taste really good. So good that you want to eat lots of them. This is a bad thing, though. They have malitol in them and will seriously upset your stomach. If you try the, I would suggest starting with half of one of the small ones to see how you react to it. Since they do have malitol in them, they have sugar alcohols that need to be counted if they effect your system. I haven't tried any of the shakes or anything else. I'm trying to stay away from the low-carb products, they cause me to completely stop losing and make me sick to boot. Just something to keep in mind if you try them; watch how you react and eat accordingly. Hope this helps. Amanda "Labyrinth" wrote in message ... Good evening! Good evening! Just wondering if anyone is familiar with carbolite products and what if anything good is to be said about them. Thanks for any responses! JEB I don't much like Carbolite. Their chocolate is not the best. And their fruit chew things make my stomach roll. Their jelly beans don't even taste good. A really good low-carb chocolate, IMO, is Pure Delite. It really does taste like Belgian chocolate, and they have several varieties. I've also now found a new kind of candy by Carb Safe at Trader Joe's. I love the Fruit Gums. They are exactly like gummy candies, but as usual are sweetened with Maltitol, so don't eat the whole package at once. For some reason though, they don't make me sick like the Carbolite candies do. I try not to depend on the fake candy though. Candy is my downfall, and I could very easily get hooked on these too. So I go through a few days at a time in which I eat a couple pieces a day and then I put them away for a few weeks. I find that I like fruit a lot better when I'm not eating the strongly flavored sweet stuff to compare it to. I'm happier that way. Rebecca J. |

I'm addicted to the Carbolite Shortbread cookies. The only think I ever missed and craved throughout the last year was cookies. The cookies come in 3 flavors, chocolate chip, peanut butter and shortbread. Tried them all, but only buy the shortbread now. -- Vickie 245/168/145 LCing 09/30/02 |

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with carbolite products and what if anything good is to be said about them. I recently tried their peanut butter cookie, individually wrapped. http://tinyurl.com/w4wx It was okay. It tasted like a hard cookie, but it cost me $1.50 per cookie. I found that very expensive, and only tried it, because ... well, just because. I wouldn't do it again. Instead, I'll try to make my own at much less than $1.50/cookie. But, on quality alone -- compared with other LC AND non-LC cookies, I'd rate it a 6.5/10. Not bad, but definetely way too expensive. Someone's got to come out with reasonably priced LC products. They'd make a killing.!! -- Jim Marnott 231/194/194 (Hit goal on 22 Nov '03 -- exactly 6 months later) Atkins since 22 May '03 Gym since 1 sept '03 |

I use to grip at paying $3 for a package of Oreos.....lol. Now I pay .99 for 1 cookie.....if you have Kroger's or Rite-aid in your area, they are usually cheaper. -- Vickie 245/168/145 LCing 09/30/02 |
