Default WNM final week - Prairie Roots

Today's WI: 147
Change from last week: -1.0
Total loss to date: -85.

I didn't stand on my regular WI scale, but based on past experience with my
daughter's scale, I believe the reading is close enough to accurate that
I'll accept its verdict this week.

Posting the daily journals definitely helped me keep my wits about me this
week while I was traveling on business. Posting my journals last weekend
helped too. Weekends are still my weakness. I know I used up all my flex
points this week, and then some. But I also made some very good choices at
restaurants, I had a plan for getting through the week and mostly stuck to
it, and I drank plenty of water.

I also managed to get in some activity points for the first time in a while.
There were two bike riding excursions last weekend, and then two swimming
sessions in the hotel pool while I was in Philadelphia. Last night I played
leap frog with my granddaughter.

I won't be counting points today, although I will try to write down
everything I eat. First we're all going out for breakfast/lunch, then maybe
a movie. For sure, we'll be going out for dinner tonight and later, we'll
have some kind of birthday celebration cake. If there's time before I leave
for home tomorrow, I hope to get in the pool with my granddaughter.

Then back to real life for a few days. Already I'm starting to plan my next
visit to Philadelphia, maybe in a week and a half. If it works out that way,
I'll try to route my trip home through Atlanta again and spend the 3-day
Independence Day weekend with my daughters. One will be closing on her new
house, and I can help her move. If I have to do all this travel for work, I
may as well take advantage of the opportunity for free visits. My weight
loss may slow as a result, but if I'm careful, I'll at least maintain and
I'll be OK with that.

26 years ago today, the day I gave birth to my twin daughters, was the best
day of my life. Being the healthiest I've been in forever and spending this
day with them makes this the next best day of my life.

Great job. I like your idea of combining business and pleasure into your
trips. Are the trips going to be a perm thing with work or will they only
last until you get that branch straightened out?

You have done great with all these challenges in the past weeks, Linda, and
this 1lb loss is your reward. I wish you has a great day and did not count
your points, there 's plenty of time to worry about them tomorrow.

Thanks Laura. The frequent trips are a temporary addition to my job
responsibilities. I've agreed to go there every couple of weeks through the
end of August to develop and implement processes for the various product
lines produced by that office. That deadline allows time for corporate
management to make other decisions related to that business: keep the
business as is, discontinue one or all parts of the business, relocate the
business. What's being judged is not the correctness of the work I'm doing,
but the ability and willingness of the staff to follow-through on making the
necessary changes in their business practices. I'm both coach and spy.
