Food & Exercise -- 7/20/2007
Went to the gym as usual this morning. In the afternoon I went to the
pool. I took my friend and her daughter as guests, so didn't do as much lap swimming as usual -- more just playing around. In the evening I went to a reception -- at a nearby country club -- for people who are supporting a large wine competition this weekend -- the Vinifera Wine Growers Association Atlantic Seabord Wine Competition (http://www.vwga.org/events.htm#Atlan...e_Competition). I'll be working that event for the next two days as a table steward. I ate too much today -- didn't know what would be served at the reception so had a burger ahead of time, but there was a lot of good stuff there and I indulged :-). (And the next two days will undoubtedly involve more eating and less exericse than usual, though it's a lot of physical work.) Anyway... Food: * 7:45 (home): oatmeal w/ peanut butter & flax seed * 10:45 (gym, between lifting & yoga): energy brownie * 1:00 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices melted f/f cheese & some shredded gouda * 3:30 (pool snack bar): 1 pack Sun Chips * 5:30 (pool snack bar): cheeseburger * 7:00 -- 9:00 (reception): a bunch of small samples of wine -- maybe 2-3 glasses total; 2-3 oz. cheese w/ a couple of crackers & pieces of bread; 3 grilled shrimp; ~1 oz. flank steak on small roll; ~5-6 bite- sized desserts Exercise: * 10:00: Lifting: stationary lunges, holding bar on back, w/ front foot on rounded side of BOSU ball (harder to balance than I'd anticipated); weighted step-ups; leg extensions; standing hamstring curls; seated calf extensions; hip adductor; hip abductor * 11:00: 75-minute yoga class, focus on side twisting * 4:00: playing in the pool, plus one good swim session of 16 laps (400 meters) (when my friends were sitting out for a while) Chris 262/130s/130s |
