Someone asked a few days ago for a nice tasting protein
supplement. Yesterday I was shopping at sams club and I saw "egg
beaters". Supposedly they are egg whites, with very little other
additives that appear relatively harmless. Probably preservatives.

A pack has 4 cartons, each carton has 8 egg equivalents.

That stuff has no cholesterol (in eggs, cholesterol is located in the
yolks) and very little fat. Essentially it is protein from eggs with
water.

I am not big on supplementing my diet with protein, as I think that
the theories that gorging on protein will make your muscles bigger are
bunk. (as long as you eat enough protein that is). But I was very
curious about that product as it seemed that it is protein without
saturated fats etc. And I just wanted to try it.

So I bought it and drank a little. It tasted like egg whites
(duh). Pretty bland taste. I want to try making a big scrambledd egg
type thing with it tonight and will report results.

As far as I can see, unless you are allergic to stuff, this is maybe
the safest protein source ever.
