om...

I am afraid that I've lost my sense of humour about diet.

The Cathy cartoon makes light of all of the mis-conceptions that are
being propagated to discourage people from following a healthy low
carb diet and improve their quality and length of life to a very large
degree.

People in general are eating way too many carbs and becoming ill from
diabetes and heart disease. My own father died in 1975 from
complications from these diseases (I was 15 at the time).

Maybe I'm a stick-in-the-mud about this but I find it so disheartening
that the Diabetes assoc., the Heart assoc., pharma, the food industry
and many many more people with vested interests have no problem with
foisting a dangerously unhealthy high-carb diet like the food pyramid
recomendations onto the trusting and unsuspecting public.

People are dying and suffering every day from obesity and its
associated diseases.

I'm sorry, I cannot find the humour in it at all.

This is a pathologically ill response. Find a psychologist and
try to discover why you hate humour. Please do not kick any
dogs, cats or children until you resolve your problems.

Aw come on, calling Cathy "humour" is like calling mud a gourmet
mousse.

p.s. I'm not from the UIC/University of Illinois at Chicago, sorry!

LOL!

I get a kick out of all the grinches who have gone so sour-natured and
humorless without carbs that they can't laugh at a silly comic strip.

Take a spoonful of Splenda and call me in the morning, y'all. :-P

Hubby read it first in the paper yesterday and then he read it to me. By
the second panel, I was reciting it with him without looking at the paper.
I, too, find Cathy usually lacking any humor, but this one was funny.
