Default Rough week, but it was a conscience decision!

Hi all,

Hope everyone had success over the holidays? Prior to the holidays I had
realized a 53 lb weight loss. On Christmas Day, I made the conscience
choice that I was going to "indulge a bit". Well, needless to say, I went
up 4.6 lbs. NOT GOOD ......

I didn't beat myself up though!......I got right back on program and didn't
"diet" this week! I ate all of my daily points each day. I ate all of my
weekly points and I drank all of my water and ate healthy all
week!!!!............This week I lost 3.6 lbs!!!

What's important here is that although I'm experiencing a minor setback, I
can honestly say that it was "my choice" and I realized very quickly how
volatile my body is!

I'm still feeling really positive and I went out yesterday and joined a gym
with my son!...........We are getting out orientation of the machines on
Monday and then our plan is start our weekly routine of going to the gym
Monday to Friday from 3:00pm until 4:30pm......

I'm going to make up for some lost time with my son and hopefully the
exercise will kick start my body in burning fat at a better rate.

Well done, Eddie!

I took a decision to have a couple of weeks off, right off, after
fiddling about for a couple of weeks and not doing anything properly.

I've regained six of the 63 I lost, over the last month, so not too bad,
considering that there was Christmas, New Year, and the pool was closed,
so no exercise to top off the cakes and ale!

Yesterday I weighed in at 156 lbs, so I am 13 lbs from goal. Today I
went back on program and swam 40 lengths of the pool (now open again!),
and did 20 minutes of vigorous bouncing about! I feel better already,
and most of that is attitude! This was the first 'holiday' I've had
from WW since I started, other than the occasional single day here and
there.

excellent Eddie. Not quitting when life happens is so important. I would not
be at goal if it were not for that one little fact.

Well, 18 months ago, when I started swimming regularly again, after a 25
year lapse, I could only manage 20-30 in an hour, with lots of rests.
Now I do it in bursts of ten, with a couple of minutes vigorous bouncing
in between, while I catch my breath. On a good day I'll do 50 lengths.
on an excellent day I might manage 60 in the hour, with less bouncing.

Because of my fibromyalgia, higher impact sports and exercise are not a
good idea (they can all to easily lead to a flare-up, crippling me for
days), so I do all I can in the pool. I go three times a week: two hour
sessions (that's minimum in-water time) and a quick 20 mins to half an
hour before my WW meeting on Thursday, if we get there in time.

Thanks for sharing with me

You're welcome.

I think you have a tougher job than I have: I had gall bladder disease,
which has helped me to stick to a well-balanced diet. DH is a type 1
diabetic, so that also encourages me to cook healthy, well balanced
meals. I'd find it difficult if I had to bother too much about the
glycemic index of food, and remember that baked spuds have a higher GI
than boiled ones!

For a few weeks up to christmas I went off program too. I enjoyed
every minute of the christmas holidays and ate chocolate and christmas
pudding without worrying about weight.

I'm back on track again now, quite a bit heavier but still within
'normal' limits, and motivated

Ray
